Conscience Conditioned

The master like Socrates, sipping and sitting,
The night just started and was gleaming away,
With Plato’s consciousness in my being,
Upa ni shad—waiting to hear.
But I heard nothing and then the dialogues started,
Master questioned, I answered, master questioned,
I answered, master questioned, I answered,
Questions upon answers and questions upon answers,
Every thought of mankind was nullified,
The morning light came from the East,
Everything is earthy and nothing heavenly,
Even conscience is conditioned.
