I was born in California, fetched up in Louisiana, a product of public schools, where I taught English and reading, plus a dozen years in the Navajo Nation, before ending up at good old Berryville High School. My wife and I relocated to Carroll County Arkansas after Hurricane Katrina obliterated our Mississippi Gulf Coast beach house and the town of Waveland, where it used to be. Six years we hosted a “Weekly Old-fashioned Hootenanny” at the Grandview Hotel on Berryville Square, until it closed.
